BES is a creative design consultancy specialising in embedded systems, providing both software and electronic design and development. We offer whole lifecycle support from initial concept to production release, providing support to market and beyond for clients throughout the UK and Europe. We always aim to delight our clients in everything we do.
Anthony has twenty five years experience in medical electronic product development, having worked for extensive periods for both Huntleigh Diagnostics and Gyrus Medical and for a short (but exciting) stint with Altera.
His output during these years included an ultrasonic doppler, electro-surgical generators and drug delivery systems.
Anthony founded Blackwood Embedded Solutions in 2008 in response to a gap in the market for an agency to support the whole design lifecycle for software and hardware and he still gets a thrill from helping clients get their products to market.
I am a commercially focused HR professional and a Fellow of the CIPD. With over 20 years’ experience at “Head of HR” and Director level, I have a sound knowledge of current employment law and a proven track record within unionised, matrix and multi-site manufacturing businesses and also the professional services sector.
I am equally comfortable serving in both an operational and strategic capacity and have worked at Board level and within Private Equity environments. I have substantial international experience, having covered sites in France, Sweden, Canada, South Africa and the USA. I am happy to cover ‘business as usual; such as maternity leave cover, but specialise in transformation and change projects. I enjoy working in a fast-moving environment, finding practical solutions to challenges and managing the change process.
I recognise the importance of managing key stakeholder relationships and my style is very much influencing / consultative. I am pragmatic in my approach and enjoy variety – I pride myself on being able to hit the ground running, quickly gain the respect of the management team and add value.
I have served as a member of the Wales Employment and Skills Board, an advisory panel to the Welsh Assembly Government. I sat on task groups within WESB on the re-licensing of the Sector Skills Councils and on youth employment issues. Recent interim projects have included stints as Group Head of HR with the BBI Group in Cardiff and Head of HR at Rotork Controls (a FTSE 250 company) in Bath.
